Jim Waldvogel (E-mail) conducts the Extension Sea Grant Marine Advisory program in southern Oregon (Curry County) and northern California (Del Norte County), areas that are deeply impacted by salmon fishery and restoration issues. Jim has completed numerous research and educational projects in his cross-state assignment during the 22 years he has served as the Sea Grant Extension advisor. Projects Include:

• Completion of a 20+ year chinook salmon spawning escapement study on Mill Creek, tributary to the Smith River, California.
  
• Conducted studies on sport fishers use of the Chetco and Smith Rivers and a survey of ocean sport salmon fishers in the Klamath Management Zone.
  
• Analyzed the potential impact of a critical habitat designation for listed salmonid species on the Del North / Curry lily bulb industry.
  
• Reviewed the economic status of the river Guide Industry in Curry, Del Norte and Humboldt County rivers (Elk, Sixes, Rogue, Chetco, Smith, Klamath and Eel).
