Ag Day: in conjunction with FFA, Ag Day provides an opportunity for 4-H members to learn about and experience the judging of conformation and/or quality of animals and ag related products.
Awards Banquet: provides the opportunity for recognizing the outstanding work of 4-H members and leaders throughout the year. It is usually a potluck dinner, combined with an awards ceremony and slide show/entertainment.
Baby Week: National 4-H Week is celebrated in Humboldt County by recognizing the first baby born that week. Plans are made prior to the event on what gifts to present to the baby. In the past, each club presented a gift as well as created a quilt square. The making of the quilt is the chairman's responsibility.
Horse Camp: provides an opportunity for 4-H members to come together for a campout including trail rides, educational sessions, and entertainment.

Horse Show: provides an opportunity for 4-H members to competitively demonstrate their horsemanship talents in English, Western, Gymkana and recreational classes.
Humboldt County Fair Junior Livestock Auction: Two individuals for 4-H are selected to participate on the Auction Planning Committee of the Fair. Their assignments are given by this committee. Their responsibility to 4-H is to keep the general membership informed and to represent 4-H interests. Applicants must apply through both the Fair and 4-H.
Lamb BBQ / Country Auction: largest, annual fund raising event. The public is invited to come and eat our 4-H raised lamb prepared by 4-H chefs. The auction is held in conjunction with the Lamb BBQ. Items are donated by the clubs, or solicited by the event chairman, and a silent auction of all items is held to help raise funds for 4-H.
Large Animal Workshop: provides an opportunity for 4-H members to learn about and/or expand their knowledge of sheep, beef, dairy, swine, goats and related animal products. The chairman selects the areas of information to be presented. This varies from year to year based on interests and needs. Examples on file.
Postal Shoot (American Trap): provides an opportunity for 4-H members to competitively demonstrate their skills relating to trap shooting in a controlled environment. This is a one day event where official scores are kept on a specified number of targets. Members compete in separate categories by age. Instruction may also be part of the event.
Poultry Show: provides an opportunity for 4-H members to exhibit their animals for competition, thereby learning its confirmation faults. This event includes an opportunity for showmanship competition as well.
Presentation Day: both County and Regional Presentation Day events provide opportunities for 4-H members to learn to express themselves in creative and effective ways. They have an opportunity to plan and present demonstrations, speeches, table top displays or skits.
Project Field Day: provides all 4-H members, (Livestock and non-Livestock), an opportunity to competitively demonstrate their skills in their project areas. Members design and exhibit posters, prepare judging activities, or project action booths, plan menus and parties, and prepare their favorite foods. Guest speakers, educational sessions and entertainment may also be part of the event.
Rabbit/Cavy Show: provides an opportunity for 4-H members to exhibit their animal for competition, thereby learning its conformation faults. This event includes an opportunity for showmanship competition for older members as well.
Tour of the Unknown Coast: this bicycle race is a fund raising opportunity for our County Program. This event is organized by an outside agency. Our 4-H responsibility is to organize volunteers to help staff the event, serve food, hand out medals, etc.
